BAMC Surgical Services includes professional practitioners in Anesthesia, Surgery, GI Lab, Preoperative services, Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery, and Sterile Supply. We provide care for patients of all ages and offer General, Orthopedic, Ophthalmic, Vascular, ENT, OB/Gyn, Gastrointestinal, and Urology services. Our goal is to provide and document safe, knowledgeable, compassionate, individualized, and goal-directed care to each patent admitted by continuous and comprehensive observations and resolution of patient care problems. Each patient deserves care that insures his/her safety, provides comfort through alleviation of fear and pain, maintains or improves his physiological status, and protects his/her rights of dignity and confidentiality.

The anesthesia department is staffed by licensed, qualified CRNAs under the medical direction of an anesthesiologist. The CRNAs can perform general, spinal, regional, MAC, and other anesthetics (ITN) following guidelines of AANA and ASA.

Preop, Intraop, and Postop nursing is performed by licensed, qualified RNs and competent ORTs, Patient Care, Technicians, and Perioperative Assistants. We provide care to patients under general, spinal, regional, or local anesthesia, with or without sedation.

Sterile Supply is staffed by competent ORTs and aides.

Surgical Services provides care to 350 surgical patients and 275 GI patients per month. We currently have 5 ORs in use and are expanding to 8 in the near future. We have 2 GI rooms and are expanding this area also.
