BAMC Recognizes Employees for November (November 13, 2003)

Shirley Pisani is selected as Bay Area Medical Center’s Employee of the Month for November.

(Marinette, Wis.) – Bay Area Medical Center announced Shirley Pisani as Employee of the Month and awarded six others for achieving customer service standards in November.

Pisani is a certified occupational therapy assistant, and has been employed in the Occupational Therapy department at BAMC since 1996. Shirley attended high school in Addison, Illinois, and completed her Associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Fox Valley Technical College.

She was chosen for her positive attitude in dealing with patients, and for the additional effort she gives to the department in programs such as the Fibromyalgia program, low-vision program, Wellness Council and the Continuity of Care committee. Pisani’s supervisor described her as, “an asset to our organization.”

Six other employees were named Service Care Stars for excelling in the hospital’s Service Care standards. These employees are:

  • Amanda Gordon - Registrar for making a positive first impression
  • Dawn Caley-Bigger - OB/Gyn RN for treating others as guests
  • Dave Thyne - Facilities worker for communicating effectively
  • Andrea Fister - 1-East Medical/Surgical unit secretary for serving others from a team-centered approach
  • Terrie Hallfrisch - Janitor for projecting a positive attitude
  • Ivy Peterson - Coder/Analyzer in Health Information Management for making excellence the goal
