BAMC Recognizes Employees for December (December 5, 2003)

Matt Baumler is selected as Bay Area Medical Center’s Employee of the Month for December.

(Marinette, Wis.) - Bay Area Medical Center announced Matt Baumler as Employee of the Month for December and awarded seven others for achieving customer service standards.

After receiving his bachelor's degree in social work from Northern Michigan University, Baumler began his employment with BAMC in 1999 with the Case Management department. As a case manager, he assists patients and families with their discharge plans whether they be assisting with nursing home placements, home health or arranging for appropriate medical equipment.

Baumler is also a graduate of Carney-Nadeau High School.

Baumler's supervisor describes him as someone who, "channels all his energy into providing excellent quality care and services, practices a positive attitude with families, patients, peers and medical staff." Baumler is noted for being a highly respected employee, and he is proud to be a part of BAMC staff.

Seven other employees were named Service Care Stars for exemplifying the hospital's Service Care standards. These employees are:

  • Candy Rodriguez - manager of reimbursement for making a positive first impression
  • Erik Graglia - occupational therapist for treating others as guests
  • Tina Fifarek - environment services aide for service recovery
  • Becky Ziegler-Otis - director of process effectiveness for communicating effectively
  • Joan Solander - infection control RN for serving others from a team-centered approach
  • Lee McElroy - facilities worker for projecting a positive attitude
  • Shelly Raygo - diagnostic imaging file clerk for making excellence the goal
