(Marinette, Wis.) – As part of Bay Area Medical Center’s continuing commitment to providing a pleasant, healing environment for all patients, the hospital is again seeking original works by local artists that feature our local area.

A collection of local art was started by the hospital as part of the décor for the Center for Outpatient Services.

“We very much want to continue this tradition of using local artists in our treatment areas and waiting rooms,” said David Olson, President and CEO. “Patients have had many positive comments about the pleasant surroundings and our choice of paintings and other works depicting our local area.”

Artists wishing to submit work for the collection should send a photo or color slide of their painting or other work to the hospital’s Foundation office at 3100 Shore Drive in Marinette by May 14, 2004. The Foundation office is coordinating the project. Selections will be juried and chosen by a committee.

“While our budget is not large, we hope to be able to select a number of pieces to compliment our new décor,” Olson concluded.

Artists needing additional information or with questions should call Nancy Douglas in the Foundation office at (715) 735-8050.
