(Marinette, Wis.) - Bay Area Medical Center recognizes Susan Tanner as May's Employee of the Month and acknowledges seven others as Service Care Stars. Tanner studied Business Administration at Tidewater Community College in Virginia. She began working at BAMC in the Finance department in May of 2001. Her duties include processing renewal applications for insurance coverage, serving as a Service Care Champion to coach other employees on positive customer service skills and providing administrative support for the Chief Financial Officer and the Assistant Administrator of Human Resources. Dan Carlson, CFO at BAMC, states that she "absolutely shines in all of our Service Care standards every day." "I feel truly fortunate to work with such wonderful, kind, caring and professional people," says Tanner. "We are so lucky to have a great facility like this in our community." Seven other employees were named Service Care Stars for exemplifying the hospital's Service Care standards. These employees are: Hollie Marklein, LPN on 1-East Medical/Surgical Unit for making a positive first impression; Donna Hensley, RN on 2-East Medical/Surgical Unit for treating others as guests; Marianne Milbach, office assistant in Emergency Services for developing service recovery; Debbie Friedland, patient care technician in the float pool for communicating effectively; Jeanne Brummitt, Director of Emergency Services for serving others from a team-centered approach; Lisa Baumann, LPN in OB/GYN for projecting a positive attitude; and Mary Czerniewski, RN in OB/GYN for making excellence her goal.
