(Marinette, Wis.) – Bay Area Medical Center recognizes Donna Wetthuhn as June’s Employee of the Month and acknowledges seven others as Service Care Stars.

Wetthuhn attended Northern Michigan University and Lake Superior State University. She began working in 1962 and experienced the transition from St. Joseph Lloyd Hospital to Menominee County Lloyd Hospital and later to Bay Area Medical Center. While working in various departments such as Medical/Surgical, Pediatrics, the OR and the ER, some of her duties have included caring for patients, ordering ambulance supplies and checking inventory.

Wetthuhn’s supervisor Jeanne Brummitt states that she “exudes professionalism - she is considerate, helpful and always has a smile on her face.”

“I feel very fortunate to be employed at BAMC,” says Wetthuhn. “BAMC has been very good to me and I am proud of the great steps BAMC has taken in their advancement to become a top-grade medical facility.”

Seven other employees were named Service Care Stars for exemplifying the hospital’s Service Care standards. These employees are:

• Cheryl Ford, Registrar in Registrations for making a positive first impression;
• Michele Smith, Computer Operator in Information Technology for treating others as guests;
• Bill Watson, Biomedical Assistant in the Biomedical Department for developing service recovery;
• Kathy Doubek, Office Assistant in Occupational Health for communicating effectively;
• Betty Walters, Order Entry Technician in the Pharmacy for serving others from a team-centered approach;
• Barb Olsen, an Aide in Environmental Services for projecting a positive attitude; and
• Michelle Kleiman, RN on 1-East Medical/Surgical Unit for making excellence her goal.
