(Marinette, Wis.) – Bay Area Medical Center recognizes Jennifer McGowan as July’s Employee of the Month and acknowledges seven others as Service Care Stars.

McGowan graduated from Jefferson Forest High School in Forest, Virginia and went on to complete the Central Virginia Practical Nursing program in 1995. She began working in the Dialysis department in October of 2002. Her duties include initiating dialysis treatments and monitoring patient’s comfort levels while they are at BAMC.

McGowan’s supervisor Robin Behrens states that Jennifer “contributes to the team and is always looking for ways to improve patient care and satisfaction. She always gives 100% while at work and her enthusiasm is contagious.”

“This hospital has a big impact on this small community with all the changes and improvements going on,” McGowan says. “I’m excited to see where it leads and am proud to be a part of those changes.” She also enjoys working with such a great group of nurses.

Seven other employees were named Service Care Stars for exemplifying the hospital’s Service Care standards. These employees are:

• Terri Erdman, an Aide in Environmental Services for making a positive first impression;
• Carol Kamine, Nurse Coordinator in Occupational Health for treating others as guests;
• Pam Anderson, Unit Secretary in 1 East Medical/Surgical for developing service recovery;
• Dawn Washuleski, a RN in 1 East Medical/Surgical for communicating effectively;
• Teri Doughty, Supervisor in the Sleep Lab for serving others from a team-centered approach;
• Laurie Eickmeyer, Transcriptionist in the Lab for projecting a positive attitude; and
• Linda Kellner, an Aide in Environmental Services for making excellence her goal.
