Heidi Christophersen was selected as Bay Area Medical Center’s Employee of the Month for September.

(Marinette, Wis.) – Bay Area Medical Center recognized Heidi Christophersen as the Employee of the Month in September and acknowledged seven others as Service Care Stars.

Christophersen has been a Transcription Clerk in Health Information Management since 2002. She graduated from Menominee High School in 1999 and began working at BAMC in the Dietary department before taking her current role. Her duties include facilitating all dictation and transcription activities, managing dictation telephones and training new users. “I am proud to be a BAMC employee,” she says.

Christophersen was chosen for her outstanding communication skills, excelling in her duties and also providing assistance for others. Her supervisor Kerry Taylor states, “She is extremely competent in all the clerk duties and continually improves and broadens her skills. She takes the initiative to go the extra mile no matter what the task.”

Seven other employees were named Service Care Stars for exemplifying the hospital’s Service Care standards. These employees are:

• Becky Phillips, an LPN on 1-East Medical/Surgical unit for making a positive first impression;
• Dennis Morton, Telecommunications Technician in the Communications department for treating others as guests;
• Tina Lemery, Rehabilitation Receptionist for developing service recovery;
• Lyn Voelker, Dietary Aide for communicating effectively;
• Walinda Cocco, an RN on 2-East Medical/Surgical unit for serving others from a team-centered approach;
• Lana Kosch, Transcriptionist in Health Information Management for projecting a positive attitude; and
• Mary Hayward, Applications Coordinator in Information Technology for making excellence her goal.
