information contact: (Marinette, Wis.) – Two programs to honor and remember loved ones will be held at Bay Area Medical Center this Sunday – a formal memorial service at 3:00 p.m. and a Love Light ceremony at 4:30 p.m. First a memorial service will be conducted by hospital Chaplain Craig Mansur in the BAMC chapel, located on the second floor of the Marinette facility, 3100 Shore Drive. This service will honor the memory of loved ones who have died at BAMC in recent months. Friends and relatives are invited to attend the service. Following the service will be the 16th annual Love Light ceremony conducted by the BAMC Auxiliary at 4:30 p.m. outside the main hospital doors. A tree-lighting ceremony will honor friends and family, remember loved ones who have passed away from cancer or any other illness, and honor others who are still living that have been struck by cancer. “Once again, we have been overwhelmed by the support of our community. We are reminded of how strong we can be when we work together,” said Arnie Organ, BAMC Auxiliary President. Throughout the years the Auxiliary has raised thousands of dollars through Love Light donations. All monies raised with Love Lights goes toward the BAMC Oncology Fund, which supports free preventative screening programs for skin cancer and prostate cancer as well as a three-month long free mammogram program. “The continued love and concern for others is what has made this program such a success. It will allow us to continue to ensure that the best care for our loved ones is always available right here at BAMC,” said Organ. In addition to Love Lights, the Auxiliary made a special emphasis to help cancer victims in our area by donating $100,000 during the capital drive to help finance the new Bay Area Cancer Center. Love Lights can still be
purchased through donation cards that will be available at the ceremony this Sunday.
The names of those remembered will also be published in a special insert in the
EagleHerald on December 4 and a follow-up advertisement with additional names
on December 24 in the EagleHerald. |
