| For more information contact: (Marinette, Wis.) – Bay Area Medical Center selected twelve drawings from area kindergarten through fifth graders to be featured in its 2005 calendar. Area school students entered hundreds of drawings, all following the theme of “Things I like to do with my family.” Drawings depicted activities from fishing to bike rides and snowball fights. The 2005 winners were:
Among the more unique family activities like “catching frogs with my mom,” area families also had a lot in common. The top things that children drew about included fishing, camping, taking walks, hunting, playing games, taking vacations and shopping. “There were a lot of different drawings, and each of them represented the wonderful ways that families live and interact in our communities,” explained John Hofer, marketing director at BAMC. “It reminds me of how great it is to live here.” Bay Area Medical Center’s patient room calendars have featured artwork by local students for the past eight years. Themes for the drawings change every year, but the quality and imagination each drawing contains remains high. “The calendar has become a tradition here at BAMC, and we see this as a great way to work with our local school systems,” said Hofer. “We also had a great turnout from school systems in a wide area, and want to thank everyone that participated.” All submitted artwork will be on display in the lower level of Bay Area Medical Center. Copies of the calendar are free to the public and are available at the BAMC Auxiliary’s Gift Shop in Marinette and the Front Door Café in Menominee. |
