Gail Meyer is selected as Bay Area Medical Center’s Employee of the Month for February (2005).

(Marinette, Wis.) – Bay Area Medical Center recognized Gail Meyer, LPN, as the Employee of the Month for February and acknowledged seven others as Service Care Stars.

Meyer graduated from Menominee High School and continued her education in Practical Nursing at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. She has been an employee at BAMC since 1994.
As an LPN in the Dialysis department, Meyer initiates dialysis treatment of patients, monitors their vital signs and works to maintain her patients’ comfort levels while in her care.

She was chosen as the employee of the month for her positive attitude and drive to provide superior patient care. That includes keeping patients informed, comfortable, and helping to solve any problems they may be experiencing.

“Dialysis patients have many needs. Gail consistently strives to make each treatment as pleasant as possible,” said Cathy Miles, director of surgical services at BAMC.

“I’ve been very fortunate over the past ten years at BAMC to have had the privilege to work with many skilled and caring professionals,” Meyer stated. “These are the people that have given me the desire to always strive to do my best.”

Seven other employees were named Service Care Stars for exemplifying the hospital’s Service Care standards. These employees were:

• Sue Powell, Phlebotomist in Lab, for making a positive first impression;
• Dawn Bublitz, Medical Technologist in Lab, for treating others as guests;
• Wendy Laundree, Dietary Aide, for developing service recovery;
• Nicole Klingbeil, Administrative Assistant in Patient Care Services, for communicating effectively;
• Bonnie Payne, Phlebotomist in Lab, for serving others from a team-centered approach;
• Darlene Borkovec, Receptionist at Bay Area Orthopaedic Consultants, for projecting a positive attitude;
• Melissa Pullen, 2-East Medical/Surgical RN, for making excellence her goal.
