Marlene Adams is selected as Bay Area Medical Center’s Employee of the Month for May (2005).

(Marinette, Wis.) – Bay Area Medical Center recognizes Marlene Adams, Histology Technician in the Laboratory, as the Employee of the Month for May and acknowledges seven others as Service Care Stars.

Adams began her employment at Bay Area Medical Center in May of 1995.
As a histology technician in the Laboratory, Adams processes surgical specimens to produce stained slides that are examined by a pathologist.
Keith Wendlandt, Director of the Laboratory indicated that, “Marlene is always upbeat, smiling and supporting others. She strives to do her personal best everyday, and she does it well!”

When asked to comment about being employed at BAMC, Adams replied, “I appreciate that I am a link in the chain of care for our patients. It is encouraging knowing that my duties contribute to their care and healing. I enjoy the challenges of my job – to produce excellent slides so the pathologists can do the best job they can.”

Seven other employees are named Service Care Stars for exemplifying the hospital’s Service Care standards. These employees are:

Maxine Carriveau, Registrar in Registrations for making a positive first impression;

• Barb Roman, RN, One East Med/Surg, for treating others as guests;
• Lois Kennedy, RN, Two East Med/Surg, for developing service recovery;
• Angie Schmidt, Accounts Payable Assistant, for communicating effectively;
• Lisa Garrison, Pharmacy Technician, for serving others from a team-centered approach;
• Ivy Grenier, Dietary Aide, for projecting a positive attitude; and
• Debbie Lemery, Dietary Aide, for making excellence her goal.
