Robin Behrens, Clinical Nurse Manager of the Dialysis Department, was named Bay Area Medical Center’s employee of the month for November 2006.

(Marinette, Wis.) – Bay Area Medical Center recognized Robin Behrens, Clinical Nurse Manager of the Dialysis Department as employee of the month for November and acknowledged seven others as Service Care Stars.

Robin graduated from Oconto Falls High School and went on to attend Bay College where she earned her Associate’s Degree in Nursing. She is currently attending UWGB to obtain her Bachelor’s Degree.
Robin began working for Bay Area Medical Center in 1992. She has held positions on the Med/Surg Floor, Emergency Department, as a Nursing Supervisor and as a Staff Nurse in the Dialysis Unit. Robin is now the Manager of the Dialysis unit and Manager of the Infection Control Department. In this role she supervises staff, addresses patient concerns and monitors performance improvement and quality issues.

When asked to comment about being a BAMC employee, Robin said “So many of our procedures are top notch and proven by our recent awards for quality outcomes.” She then added “In the almost 15 years I have worked here, no matter how bad the week may have been, by Monday morning I am excited to return to work to see what the new week brings.”

Cathy Miles, Director of Surgical Services, said “Robin is determined to ensure the Dialysis outcomes at BAMC meet all national targets. She has turned the Dialysis Department into a well-run unit.”

In November, seven other employees were named Service Care Stars for exemplifying the hospital’s Service Care Standards. These employees were

• Wendy Majkrzak, Pharmacy Aide, Stephenson Pharmacy, for making a positive first impression;
• Betsy Shaver, Receptionist, Dr. Britt’s Orthopedic Clinic, for treating others as guests;
• Terrie Hallfrisch, Janitor, Environmental Services, for developing service recovery;
• Deanna Gamelin, Medical Technologist, Laboratory, for communicating effectively;
• Jamie Fifarek, MRI Aide, MRI Department, for serving others from a team-centered approach;
• Leslie Noon, Payroll/Accounting Assistant, Payroll, for projecting a positive attitude; and
• Kathy Perez, File Clerk, Health Information Management, for making excellence the goal.
