Recognizes Employees for February (February 12, 2007) |

(Marinette, Wis.) – Bay Area Medical Center recognized Andrea Fister, Unit Secretary in the One East Medical/Surgical Department as employee of the month for February and acknowledged seven others as Service Care Stars. Andrea graduated from Stephenson High School and has continued her education at Bay de Noc Community College and NWTC, where she is currently pursuing her RN degree. Andrea began working for Bay Area Medical Center as a Unit Secretary in September of 2002. As a Unit Secretary, Andrea enters physician orders into the computer and responds to phone calls and patient requests. Andrea is described as having a great attitude, treating everyone with respect and dignity. Julie Tompson, Clinical Nurse Manager of Critical Care Services, stated, “Andrea’s quality of work is above average. She shines in all Service Care Standards.” When asked to comment about being a BAMC employee, Andrea said “BAMC has provided many great opportunities for me to expand my knowledge base. I never thought I would have had so many great opportunities and chances to learn.” She goes on to say, “I am thankful to work with such wonderful people and privileged to have made everlasting friendships. I have memories of coworkers, physicians and patients that I will carry with me for a lifetime.” In February, seven other employees were named Service Care Stars for exemplifying the hospital’s Service Care Standards. For the Editor: Bay Area Medical Center is a 99-bed general acute care hospital located in Northeast Wisconsin. It includes a community primary/secondary care hospital, a 71,100 sq.-ft. outpatient surgery center, a primary care physician joint venture, and a radiation oncology joint venture. BAMC offers select, advanced medical services, with an emphasis on diagnostic radiology, rehabilitation services, ambulatory surgery, obstetrics, cancer treatment and urgent care.
