Announces Aphasia Support Group (February 15, 2007) |
| For more information contact: (Marinette, Wis.) – Bay Area Medical Center announces the formation of a support group for individuals who have aphasia. The first meeting will happen on Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the Bay Area Mobility Center, 3117 Shore Drive, Suite 101. Aphasia is difficulty speaking or understanding speech after a brain injury (IE, stroke or head trauma). The support group is open to individuals and/or their family members. During the meetings, individuals experiencing aphasia and/or their family members will have an opportunity to practice speech and language skills in a safe and supportive environment; receive additional information about aphasia; obtain access to medical professionals; and strengthen and rebuild confidence in social settings.
