BAMC Names Two New Board Members (March 13, 2007)

(Marinette, Wis.) – Bay Area Medical Center named two area community and business leaders to its board of directors to replace outgoing members Jeff Zeratsky and David Higley.

John ReinkeJohn Reinke, president of The Stephenson National Bank & Trust in Marinette, Wis., and Tony Furton, owner of Tony Furton State Farm Insurance Agency in Menominee, Mich., will join the board of directors effective February 27, 2007 after confirmation by their respective Marinette and Menominee County Boards. Reinke will finish the remaining term on behalf of Zeratsky, and Furton was named to a four-year term.

Charles Kalhoefer, board chair, expressed sound approval of the announcement. “Our two new members will become real assets to BAMC. Mr. Reinke and Mr. Furton are both widely respected for their leadership, civic involvement and vision, and will provide invaluable insight and balance as BAMC strives to continue to provide our community with the best care possible, while evolving to meet the demands of tomorrow.”

As president, Reinke leads the 132-year-old independent community bank with assets of $240 million and trust assets exceeding $190 million. He currently serves as chairman of the Wisconsin Bankers Association in Madison. Reinke is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Marinette and the Graduate School of Banking, Madison. Community-focused positions he has held in the past have included president of the M&M Area Community Foundation and the University of Wisconsin-Marinette Foundation, Inc.

Tony FurtonBefore becoming owner of Tony Furton State Farm Insurance, Furton was the city manager for the City of Menominee for 10 years. He currently serves on the Foundation Board of Directors at UW-Marinetteand active on other community boards and commissions. Furton received his bachelors in business administration from Olivet College in Olivet, Michigan, with an insurance concentration.

David Olson, president and CEO of BAMC, expressed his gratitude to outgoing members Zeratsky and Higley. “They gave countless hours of time in service to BAMC, and their unwavering dedication to improving health care delivery in our community is a credit not only to them personally, but also to the other members of the Board of Directors and to the hospital staff.”

Bay Area Medical Center is a 99-bed general acute care hospital located in Northeast Wisconsin. It includes a community primary/secondary care hospital, a 71,100 sq.-ft. outpatient surgery center, a primary care physician joint venture, and a radiation oncology joint venture.
