SERVICES - CANCER CARE CENTER

Service Care is a program consisting of seven standards for performance and customer service. Each employee strives to follow these standards on a daily basis. Below, we recognize those who excel in Service Care.

The Employee of the Month is chosen as someone who exemplifies all seven standards, and the Service Care Stars are employees chosen each month that excel in the standard they represent.

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH

Kathy Willmann, RN on the Two East Medical/Surgery floor was named as the Employee of the Month for September, 2007.

Bay Area Medical Center recognizes Kathy Willmann, RN on the Two East Medical/Surgery floor, for being named Employee of the Month for September 2007.

Kathy graduated from Marinette Catholic Central High School and received her RN Diploma from the Bellin College of Nursing. She began working for Bay Area Medical Center at the Menominee facility in 1979 and came over to Marinette when the facilities merged in 1986.

As a Nurse Preceptor, Kathy orients new nurses to the procedures of the Medical/Surgery floors. She finds it particularly rewarding when she watches a new nurse learn and grow and become strong and proficient in the care they provide. Kathy’s quality of work reflects high professional standards. She is involved in performance improvement data collection, can be counted on to develop Medical/Surgery competencies for the staff, and has taught Critical Thinking Classes.

Bobbi Morton, Director of Two East Medical/Surgery said that Kathy makes new nurses feel at ease so they can learn. As a Preceptor, Kathy excels in communicating effectively to educate, train, and prepare new nurses. She does such an exceptional job that she has been given the “Preceptor of the Year” award twice.

When asked about what she likes best about being an employee at Bay Area Medical Center, Kathy responded “Every day is different and I am continuously learning something new. I like meeting new people and enjoy working with my co-workers.”

Standard 5 - Team-Centered Approach - Marlene Adams, Histology Technician, Laboratory.

Standard 6 - Project a Positive Attitude - Cindy Doran, Coder/Analyzer, Health Information Management.
