| Mammography services
are located at the Women's Health Center, a private suite located on the first
floor.
Low-dose
mammography -- when combined with self-exam and regular doctors' checkups -- is
the most effective way to detect breast cancer. Breast cancer affects one in eight
American women, but if detected early it is one of the most treatable and curable
forms of cancer. At Bay Area Medical Center, our technicians use two mammography
units to screen for breast cancer and detect the disease in its early stages.
The mammography services
are both American College of Radiology (ACR) and MQSA (Mammography Services Standard
Act) certified. All the technologists performing mammograms have passed registry
exams and are required to maintain their skills by continuing education. |
