An
estimated 85 million Americans have trouble falling asleep at night or suffer
from some kind of sleep disorder. And yet, it is estimated that only 5% of sleep
disorder sufferers have sought treatment.
If you or loved one suffers
from a sleep disorder, the treatment you may need is avaiable right here in your
community.
Sleep Study Environment
Your sleep study will be
conducted in a private home-like setting. During sleep testing, the activities
that go on in your body while you are sleeping are monitored. Our staff records
your sleep patterns from a separate room. The results of your study are then made
available to your doctor, who can then help you decide on the best course of treatment.
The cost of a sleep study today will more than make up for the money you are likely
to spend on cardiac problems which a patient with sleep apnea may face in the
future.
Sleep Disorder Symptoms
Your
first step if you think you have a sleep disorder is to bring your concern to
the attention of your primary care doctor.
You may have a sleep disorder
if you exhibit one or more of the following:
- Loud, irregular snoring
- Frequent leg twitching
- Fatigue, tiredness, or
sleepiness
- Unusual behaviors while
sleeping
- Witnessed apneas, choking
or gasping
- Unexplained or worsening
heart failure or edema
- Depression or difficulty
concentrating at work
